Lanier Elementary School A Redesign School

Celerity Lanier Charter School (formerly located at 4705 Lanier Dr. in Baton Rouge) was a public charter school that operated as part of the Celerity Schools Louisiana network. The school was designed to provide a college-preparatory education to students in the North Baton Rouge area, focusing on a curriculum that emphasized rigorous academics, character development, and high expectations. By operating as a charter institution, it functioned independently of the traditional district school board structure, aiming to offer families in the community an alternative educational model centered on long-term student achievement.

The school's tenure was marked by significant controversy and eventual closure. Following an investigation into the Celerity network regarding administrative mismanagement and financial improprieties, the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) moved to revoke the charters for Celerity’s schools in the state. Consequently, Celerity Lanier ceased operations, and the transition of its students and the repurposing of its facilities became a focal point for local educational oversight and community adjustment in the years following its closure.
