Headquartered at 402 Main Street in Oxford, Alabama, the Oxford City school district operates as an open, regular public school system situated within a small city community setting in the Anniston-Oxford metropolitan area. Independent of a supervisory union and non-charter in structure, the district manages seven operational schools providing full educational coverage from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the district enrolled a total of 4,103 students, comprising 2,095 male and 2,008 female learners.
