ARKANSAS SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF

Located at 2400 W. Markham in Little Rock, Arkansas, the Arkansas School for the Deaf is an open, state-operated educational agency serving learners across the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway metropolitan area. Situated in a midsize city setting, this non-charter district operates a single dedicated school campus that provides tailored instruction spanning from prekindergarten through the twelfth grade (PK–12). During the 2024–2025 school year, the district enrolled a focused cohort of 104 students, reflecting a balanced student body of 52 female and 52 male learners distributed across elementary, middle, and secondary grade levels. The student population represents a diverse community, including 48 White students, 34 Black students, 16 Hispanic students, 5 multiracial students, and 1 Asian student. To support these learners with highly individualized instruction and specialized care, the district maintains an extraordinarily high staff-to-student presence. Its workforce encompasses 185 full-time equivalent (FTE) personnel, including nearly 61 FTE teachers, 32 instructional aides, and over 92 dedicated support staff members—ensuring an intensive level of personal attention, small group interaction, and multidisciplinary resources for every student.
