ARKANSAS VIRTUAL ACADEMY

Arkansas Virtual Academy is an active, fully operational independent charter district headquartered at 717 West 7th Street in the heart of Little Rock, Arkansas. Operating within a midsize city setting in the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Conway metropolitan region, the district serves students statewide across three dedicated public charter campuses. Designed to offer a flexible, technology-driven alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schooling, the district delivers a comprehensive public education spanning kindergarten through 12th grade. As an open public charter entity participating in federal education programs, Arkansas Virtual Academy delivers personalized learning pathways that allow students to achieve academic milestones from the comfort of their homes.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the district serves a vibrant student body of 5,269 learners, reflecting a diverse community composed of 3,492 White, 1,004 Black, 389 Hispanic, 261 multiracial, 75 American Indian, 43 Asian, and 5 Pacific Islander students. Enrollment builds progressively from the primary grades through high school, where over 2,500 students are enrolled across grades 9 through 12. Supporting this expansive online student body is a robust team of approximately 672 full-time equivalent staff members, including nearly 572 dedicated classroom teachers and 100 support professionals. This favorable staffing framework enables the district to maintain responsive instructional support, rich curricular offerings, and comprehensive guidance services tailored to the modern digital learner.
