Located at 777 Aileen Street in the small city of Camarillo, California, the Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education District functions as an active independent charter district within the Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura metropolitan area. Managing a single operational school site, this district serves as its own local educational agency for federal programs, offering a continuous academic pathway spanning from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Operating continuously into the 2024–2025 academic year, the charter district provides an accessible, community-focused educational environment designed to foster progressive learning for families throughout Ventura County.

The district supports a vibrant student body of 590 enrolled pupils, consisting of 302 female and 288 male students. The vast majority of enrollment is concentrated across the kindergarten through eighth-grade levels, alongside a minor high school program.
