The City District

Located at 5753 Obama Blvd. in Los Angeles, California, The City District is an active, open independent charter district operating as a local educational agency for federal programs within a dynamic urban environment. Designed with a focused academic mandate, the district concentrates its educational resources entirely on the middle school experience, serving students in sixth through eighth grade across a single operational school site. This streamlined structure allows the district to deliver targeted curriculum and dedicated student support, fostering a cohesive learning community tailored to the unique developmental needs of early adolescents.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, The City District serves a close-knit student body of 150 middle schoolers, composed of 37 sixth graders, 55 seventh graders, and 58 eighth graders. The district reflects a rich cultural spectrum, bringing together 74 Black students, 59 Hispanic students, and small representations of White, multiracial, American Indian, and Asian learners, with a student population of 95 male and 55 female students.
