Sky Mountain Charter District

Located at 4535 Missouri Flat Rd. Ste. 1A in Placerville, California, Sky Mountain Charter District is an open, independent charter district dedicated to serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Operating a single-school model that functions as its own local educational agency for federal programs, the district offers families a customized educational experience within the public system. During the 2024–2025 academic year, the district supports a diverse student body of 2,511 pupils, with enrollment distributed consistently across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The student population represents a rich mix of cultural backgrounds, including 1,036 Hispanic students, 778 White students, 447 multiracial students, and 152 Asian students, alongside Black, Pacific Islander, and Native American learners. To ensure tailored instruction and student success, Sky Mountain employs a robust workforce totaling roughly 242 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members. This team features approximately 215.5 FTE certified teachers supported by instructional aides and over 25 FTE dedicated support personnel, establishing a strong professional foundation to guide students throughout their educational journeys.
