San Diego Virtual District

Located in the heart of downtown San Diego at 600 West Broadway (Suite 230), the San Diego Virtual District is an open, independent public charter district serving secondary students across the San Diego-Chula Vista-Carlsbad metropolitan area. Operating as its own Local Educational Agency for federal programs, this urban district focuses exclusively on high school education, serving students in grades 9 through 12 within a single operational school setting. Designed to provide a flexible and modern learning environment within a large city context, the district offers a tailored academic framework aimed at guiding young adults toward graduation and post-secondary success.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the district enrolled 403 high school students, with a strong upper-grade presence that includes 193 seniors in 12th grade alongside 85 juniors, 98 sophomores, and 27 freshmen. The student population represents a diverse community composed of 190 Hispanic, 131 White, 42 multiracial, 21 Black, and 14 Asian students, with a gender breakdown of 219 female and 179 male learners. To support its student body, the district maintains a dedicated instructional and operational framework powered by approximately 36 full-time equivalent teachers and 14 support staff members. This robust staffing context fosters an impressive student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 11 to 1, ensuring students receive personalized academic guidance and comprehensive support throughout their high school journey.
