Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind

Located at 33 N. Institute Street in Colorado Springs, the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind is an active, state-operated educational agency dedicated to providing specialized public education. Operating within a large city setting, this non-charter district serves as a specialized single-campus institution serving students across the region. The school delivers a seamless educational continuum spanning from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, ensuring tailored academic pathways, communication access, and life-skills development for children throughout their entire primary and secondary school years.

For the 2024–2025 academic year, the school serves a focused community of 167 students, characterized by a diverse student body that includes Hispanic, White, Black, Asian, Native American, and multiracial learners. To effectively meet the intensive educational and sensory needs of its population, the district maintains an exceptionally strong staff-to-student presence, supported by over 313 full-time equivalent (FTE) personnel.
