The Woodstock Academy District

Located at 57 Academy Road in the historic town of Woodstock, Connecticut, The Woodstock Academy District serves as an active, independent public high school district serving a rural fringe community. Operating a single dedicated secondary campus, the open district focuses exclusively on adolescent education across grades nine through twelve. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the district educates a well-balanced student body of 1,022 pupils, distributed evenly across all upper grade levels—including 232 ninth graders, 250 tenth graders, 271 eleventh graders, and 269 graduating seniors. The student population brings together a variety of backgrounds from northeastern Connecticut, consisting of 494 female and 525 male students, alongside a diverse mix of racial and ethnic demographic groups.

To support its comprehensive high school curriculum and student well-being, the district operates with an expansive professional workforce. Educational delivery is driven by approximately 127 full-time equivalent (FTE) certified teachers, supported by 14 instructional aides who provide specialized learning assistance. Complementing the teaching staff, a substantial team of roughly 226 FTE support staff members manages daily school operations, student services, and facility maintenance, bringing the district’s total staffing complement to nearly 368 full-time equivalent personnel.
