Richard Wright PCS for Journalism and Media Arts

Situated in the heart of the nation’s capital at 475 School Street SW, the Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts operates as an active, independent charter school district serving a vibrant, large city environment in Washington, D.C. Operating a single dedicated campus, the district serves secondary students across grades 8 through 12, combining specialized instruction in media arts and communications with core academic curricula. For the 2024–2025 school year, the district maintains an overall student enrollment of 303 scholars. The student population transitions from an introductory 8th-grade cohort of 23 students into a expansive high school program consisting of 80 9th graders, 77 10th graders, 74 11th graders, and 49 graduating 12th graders.
