Sela PCS

Located at 6015 Chillum Place NE in Washington, D.C., Sela PCS is an active, independent charter school district operating within a vibrant, large-city environment. Serving as a single-school district in the nation’s capital, Sela PCS focuses exclusively on foundational early childhood and elementary education, welcoming students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Its operational status as a dedicated local educational agency allows the school to provide a tailored, highly focused learning atmosphere designed to guide young scholars through their crucial early academic and social developmental milestones.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the district educates a student body of 303 children, with its largest enrollment concentrated in early childhood programs, including 112 pre-kindergarteners and 45 kindergarten students. The student population represents a diverse community composed of 170 Black, 78 White, 38 Hispanic, 14 multiracial, and 3 Asian students. To nurture this student body, Sela PCS maintains an exceptionally strong educator presence, supported by a staff of 86 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers, 6 instructional aides, and nearly 67 support staff members. This comprehensive team of nearly 159 full-time personnel ensures a close-knit, resource-rich learning environment where individual student growth and family engagement remain at the forefront.
