Monument Academy PCS

Monument Academy PCS is an active, independent public charter school district located at 500 19th Street NE in Washington, D.C. Operating as a single-school local educational agency within a large city environment, the district is dedicated exclusively to middle school education, serving students from fifth through eighth grade. Situated in the heart of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria metropolitan area, the academy provides a focused academic program designed to support adolescents through pivotal developmental and educational milestones.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the district serves a student body of 131 learners, with grade-level enrollments comprising 11 fifth graders, 36 sixth graders, 47 seventh graders, and 37 eighth graders. Monument Academy stands out for its extraordinarily resource-intensive staffing model, employing 36 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers and over 165 support staff FTEs, bringing the total staff to more than 200 FTE professionals. This unique structure yields an exceptionally low student-to-teacher ratio of under four to one, allowing for highly individualized instruction, robust wraparound support services, and close-knit community engagement tailored to the needs of its diverse student body.
