Moravia Comm School District

The Moravia Community School District is an active, traditional public school system headquartered at 505 N Trussell St in Moravia, Iowa. Serving a distant rural community in the heart of Appanoose County, the non-charter district operates two fully operational schools that provide a continuous educational pathway from prekindergarten through twelfth grade. Dedicated to delivering comprehensive public education, the district offers an accessible learning environment designed to meet the academic and developmental milestones of local youth across every grade level.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the district serves a tight-knit student body of 355 enrolled learners, keeping class sizes small and consistent across elementary and secondary levels. To support academic achievement and student well-being, Moravia maintains a strong staffing structure comprised of approximately 154 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions, including roughly 66.5 dedicated teacher FTEs, 23.5 instructional aide FTEs, and 64 support staff FTEs.
