WACO Comm School District

Situated in the heart of a rural distant community in Southeast Iowa, the WACO Community School District serves as an active, traditional public school system headquartered at 706 N. Pearl in Wayland, Iowa. Operating across two school facilities, the district delivers a continuous educational pathway spanning from pre-kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. The district offers local families a stable, community-centered learning environment with transparent communication and administrative support anchored through its central campus and web platform.

The district currently educates a student body of 558 learners, comprising 294 male and 264 female students across its elementary, middle, and high school grades. The student population represents a diverse range of backgrounds, primarily composed of 498 White students and 41 Hispanic students, along with multiracial (10), Asian (4), Black (3), and American Indian (2) peers. To support student achievement and well-being, WACO maintains a well-resourced staff context of approximately 183.26 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.
