Headquartered at 815 N. Larkin Avenue (Suite 107) in Joliet, Illinois, the Southern Will County Cooperative for Special Education serves as an active public educational cooperative set within the large suburban framework of the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan area. Operating as an open, non-charter special education district, the cooperative coordinates resources across 13 operational school facilities. Rather than adhering to traditional general-education grade spans, the cooperative focuses on providing specialized, non-graded programming and vocational support tailored to the unique learning requirements of students served throughout its partner network.

To fulfill its mission of intensive, individualized instruction, the cooperative maintains a robust professional workforce totaling approximately 373 full-time equivalent staff members. Reflecting the specialized nature of its services, the educational team is led by over 70 full-time equivalent teachers supported by nearly 87 instructional aides. This core instructional staff works in tandem with a large multidisciplinary team of over 216 support staff professionals, ensuring that students receive comprehensive therapeutic, administrative, and developmental assistance across the district's suburban programs.
