Monarca Academy

Monarca Academy is an active, open independent charter school district operating a single campus located at 5525 W 34th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. Situated within the vibrant urban setting of the Indianapolis-Carmel-Greenwood metropolitan area, the district functions as its own local education agency for federal programs. Although authorized to serve a complete kindergarten through 12th-grade continuum, the academy currently directs its daily instructional focus toward middle school education. During the current academic year, the school serves 219 students across the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, with 65 sixth graders, 72 seventh graders, and 82 eighth graders forming its core student body.

The academy cultivates a close-knit, culturally rich learning environment tailored to its urban student body. Monarca Academy's student population is predominantly Hispanic, representing 205 of its enrolled pupils, alongside Black, White, Asian, and multiracial students, with a balanced gender distribution of 110 female and 109 male learners. To drive academic engagement and individualized student growth, the district maintains a generous staffing footprint comprising 24 full-time equivalent teachers and 4 dedicated support staff members. With a total full-time staff of 28 professionals, the academy offers an exceptionally low student-to-teacher ratio of under nine to one, providing researchers, parents, and prospective students a model of focused, highly personalized middle school education.
