Excel Center - Decatur

Located at 5106 S. High School Rd. in Indianapolis, Indiana, Excel Center - Decatur is a newly established independent charter district operating within a vibrant, large city environment. Functioning as its own local education agency for federal programs, this single-facility district serves secondary students in grades 9 through 12, offering a dedicated high school pathway within the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area. Designed to foster academic advancement and diploma attainment, the center provides a targeted educational framework tailored to meet the needs of mature high school learners seeking a supportive, community-centered learning environment.

During the current academic session, the district serves a student body of 259 secondary learners, characterized by a diverse student populace that includes 155 Black, 45 White, 41 Hispanic, 11 multiracial, and 7 Asian students, with a gender breakdown of 148 female and 111 male learners. To foster student achievement and address holistic learning needs, Excel Center - Decatur employs a well-rounded team of 52 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members.
