Irvington Community Middle School

Located at 6040 E. Pleasant Run Parkway South in Indianapolis, Indiana, Irvington Community Middle School functions as a newly established independent charter district serving families within a dynamic, large-city context in the Indianapolis-Carmel-Greenwood metropolitan area. Tailored specifically to the academic and social needs of early adolescence, this single-school district focuses exclusively on middle school education, serving students across sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. For the 2024–2025 school year, the district hosts a close-knit learning community of 238 students—comprising 78 sixth graders, 83 seventh graders, and 77 eighth graders—creating an intimate educational setting designed to guide young scholars through these pivotal transitional years.

To support academic growth and student well-being, the district maintains a robust professional team totaling 50 full-time equivalent staff members. This includes 34 full-time classroom teachers, supported by dedicated instructional aides and administrative staff, which allows for an extraordinarily low student-to-teacher ratio of approximately seven to one. The school's vibrant student body represents a diverse mix of backgrounds, including 126 White, 44 Black, 42 Hispanic, 24 multiracial, and 2 Asian students.
