Excel Center of West Central Indiana

The Excel Center of West Central Indiana is a newly established independent charter district situated at 2702 S. 3rd St. in the small city setting of Terre Haute, Indiana. Operating a single specialized school as its own local education agency for federal programs, this public district is dedicated to high school education, serving students across grades 9 through 12. Positioned within the broader Terre Haute metropolitan area, the district offers a tailored academic environment designed to open new educational pathways and help local learners achieve their secondary credentials.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the district served a total student body of 139 learners, with the vast majority embarking on their foundational high school coursework, including 103 ninth-grade and 30 tenth-grade students, alongside a smaller cohort of upperclassmen. The student population represents a diverse cross-section of the local community, comprising 89 White students, 31 Hispanic students, 16 Black students, and three multiracial students, with an almost even gender distribution of 73 female and 66 male students. To ensure a highly supportive learning environment, the district relies on a dedicated team of 14 full-time equivalent staff members, including 11 support personnel and three instructional aides who assist students in reaching their academic and personal goals.
