Southern Cloud

Located in the rural community of Glasco, Kansas, the Southern Cloud public school district provides a focused, community-centered educational environment for local families. Headquartered at 200 N. Haynes, this fully operational, traditional public school district operates two academic facilities designed to serve students across a complete educational continuum from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Nestled within a remote rural setting, Southern Cloud functions independently outside of a charter or supervisory union framework, offering an accessible and stable foundation for young learners preparing for higher education, career pathways, and civic life.

For parents, students, and educational researchers, Southern Cloud stands out for its remarkably small learning environment and exceptionally low student-to-staff ratios. With a total student enrollment of 60 children across all grade levels, the district delivers a highly personalized academic experience backed by a dedicated workforce. The district employs nearly 23 full-time equivalent teachers alongside 32.5 support staff members and instructional aides, creating an expansive support network of over 55 full-time staff members.
