City of Baker School District

The City of Baker School District is an active, traditional public school system headquartered at 14750 Plank Road in Baker, Louisiana. Positioned within the greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area and set in a rural fringe environment, this fully operational, non-charter district serves as a foundational educational hub for the local community. Across its four operational schools, the district offers a continuous educational pathway spanning from pre-kindergarten all the way through 12th grade, ensuring early learning opportunities, middle-level development, and secondary preparation for higher education or career entry.

Currently serving a student body of 1,000 enrolled children, the district represents a rich community demographic that includes 868 Black students, 92 Hispanic students, and 25 White students, alongside multi-racial, Asian, and Pacific Islander learners. To support this student population, the district maintains a well-rounded educational team consisting of nearly 194 full-time equivalent staff members.
