GEO Next Generation High School

Located at 2311 N Sherwood Forest Dr in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, GEO Next Generation High School operates as an active, independent charter district serving a secondary student population within a midsize city setting. Focused exclusively on upper-level education, this single-school district provides tailored instruction to students in ninth through twelfth grade. The school currently serves 478 students, with an enrollment distribution of 149 ninth graders, 138 tenth graders, 101 eleventh graders, and 90 twelfth graders. Demographically, the student body includes 263 female and 215 male students, representing a culturally rich community primarily composed of Black (409) and Hispanic (58) scholars, alongside peers from American Indian, Asian, Pacific Islander, White, and multiracial backgrounds.

To foster an engaging learning environment, GEO Next Generation High School maintains a dedicated workforce totaling approximately 67 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members. The core instructional team features nearly 40 FTE teachers supported by 2 instructional aides, ensuring direct classroom guidance and specialized academic attention. Additionally, more than 25 FTE support personnel assist with campus administration, student services, and daily operations. Functioning as its own local education agency for federal programs, GEO Next Generation High School offers families, students, and educational researchers a focused, well-resourced model of contemporary high school education designed to prepare young adults for future success in the Baton Rouge metropolitan region.
