SER YouthBuild Learning Academy

SER YouthBuild Learning Academy is an active independent charter district located at 5200 Stecker Street in Dearborn, Michigan. Serving the broader Detroit-Warren-Dearborn metropolitan area within a large city setting, this charter organization operates two secondary campuses dedicated exclusively to high school education across grades 9 through 12. Functioning as its own local educational agency for federal programs, the district offers focused academic and career-oriented pathways designed to help young adults achieve high school graduation, gain practical skills, and successfully transition into post-secondary education or the workforce.

The academy currently serves a student body of 216 high schoolers, with the largest concentration enrolled in the ninth and tenth grades. Reflecting its urban community, the student population is predominantly composed of Black and Hispanic learners, with 130 male and 86 female students. To foster student success and address diverse learning needs, the district is backed by a comprehensive workforce of nearly 35 full-time equivalent staff members. This includes approximately 9.5 full-time equivalent teachers complemented by a substantial support staff of over 25 dedicated professionals, ensuring students receive significant individualized guidance, wraparound services, and instructional mentorship.
