Munising Public Schools

Munising Public Schools is an active, traditional public school district nestled in the rural, remote landscape of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Situated at 810 State Highway M28 West in Munising, Michigan, the district serves as a vital educational anchor for the local community. Operating two dedicated campuses, the non-charter district delivers a continuous academic pipeline spanning from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. During the 2024–2025 school year, the district educates a total of 558 students, maintaining a balanced student body composed of 280 female and 278 male learners. The student population reflects the distinct demographics of the region, comprising 444 White students, 82 American Indian students, 21 students of two or more races, eight Hispanic students, and three Black students. To ensure student success and school safety, the district operates with a comprehensive workforce of nearly 189 full-time equivalent staff members. This educational team includes approximately 71 full-time equivalent teachers, 20 instructional aides, and nearly 98 support staff professionals, fostering a well-resourced setting tailored to both academic achievement and individual student growth.
