Oakside Prep Academy

Oakside Prep Academy is an open, independent public charter school district located at 355 Summit Drive in Waterford, Michigan. Nestled within a large suburban community in the Detroit-Warren-Dearborn metropolitan area, the district operates as a single comprehensive school site providing a continuous educational pathway for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Serving as its own local educational agency for federal programs, Oakside Prep offers families the unique advantage of an all-in-one K–12 academic environment, allowing children to progress seamlessly from their foundational elementary years through high school graduation within a unified campus culture.

The academy supports a diverse and vibrant student body of 1,424 scholars, with balanced gender representation and a rich multicultural community primarily encompassing Black, Hispanic, multiracial, and White students. To ensure a supportive and academically rigorous environment, Oakside Prep maintains a comprehensive staffing model composed of nearly 269 full-time equivalent (FTE) personnel. This includes approximately 143 FTE classroom teachers, nearly 19 FTE instructional aides, and over 106 FTE dedicated support staff. This robust workforce maintains an advantageous student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 10 to 1, enabling educators to provide individualized attention, tailored interventions, and strong academic mentorship to prepare students for college and career success.
