Meeker and Wright Special Education

Located at 720 9th Avenue in Howard Lake, Minnesota, Meeker and Wright Special Education serves as a dedicated public education cooperative designed to meet the specialized academic and vocational needs of area students. Operating across nine active school facilities in a rural setting situated within the broader Minneapolis–St. Paul–Bloomington region, this open, non-charter district delivers tailored programming across a full PK–12 spectrum. The district currently serves an enrollment of 190 students, featuring a particularly strong emphasis on early intervention with 68 children in prekindergarten, as well as focused programming for older youth navigating middle and high school grade levels.

To effectively serve its student body, which comprises 138 male and 52 female students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, the district maintains an exceptionally rich staffing ratio designed for individualized support. A total workforce equivalent to roughly 197 full-time employees powers the district's operations, including approximately 66.6 full-time teachers, nearly 25 instructional aides, and almost 106 specialized support personnel.
