THE BIOME

Located at 4471 Olive Street in St. Louis, Missouri, The Biome is an active, independent public charter school district operating a single elementary campus within a vibrant large-city setting. Functioning as its own local educational agency for federal programs, the district offers an intentional educational path focused exclusively on early childhood and primary education, serving students from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Positioned within the central St. Louis metropolitan area, the district provides families with a dedicated urban learning environment designed to foster academic and social growth during students' most formative foundational years.

According to federal data for the 2024–2025 academic year, The Biome maintains an intimate school community with a total enrollment of 167 students, comprising 92 boys and 75 girls balanced across its elementary grade levels. The student body reflects the diverse character of its surrounding community, predominantly serving Black students alongside multiracial, White, Hispanic, and American Indian learners. To support this focused student population, the district utilizes a robust professional team consisting of 46 full-time equivalent teachers, two instructional aides, and five dedicated support staff members, bringing the total staff to 53 full-time equivalent personnel. This high proportion of educators to students enables the district to deliver targeted instruction, close mentorship, and comprehensive academic support across every classroom.
