Asheville PEAK Academy

Located at 27 Balm Grove Avenue in the mountain community of Asheville, North Carolina, Asheville PEAK Academy is an open, independent charter district situated within a small city setting. Operating a single facility, the district provides dedicated public education for elementary and early middle school students spanning from Kindergarten through 6th grade. As an independent charter operating as its own local educational agency for special education services under IDEA, the academy delivers focused academic programming tailored to support young learners through their crucial developmental years.

According to federal educational statistics for the 2024–2025 school year, Asheville PEAK Academy serves a close-knit student body of 161 pupils, consisting of 83 female and 78 male students. The academy reflects a vibrant community dynamic, educating 109 Black students, 22 multiracial students, 18 Hispanic students, and 12 White students. The district maintains an exceptional instructional staffing framework, employing approximately 31 full-time equivalent teachers. This generous educator-to-student ratio of roughly one teacher for every five students allows for highly personalized instruction, small class environments, and tailored academic support across all grade levels.
