Pocosin Innovative Charter

Located at 500 1st Street in Creswell, North Carolina, Pocosin Innovative Charter operates as an open, single-facility independent charter district dedicated to serving elementary and middle school students. Nestled within a remote rural setting in eastern North Carolina, the district offers tailored public education spanning kindergarten through eighth grade. Operating as an independent Local Education Agency, Pocosin Innovative Charter provides a focused, nurturing environment for early childhood and early adolescent learners, preparing them academically and socially before they transition to high school.

The district currently serves a close-knit student body of 269 children, maintaining low class sizes across all grade levels—ranging from 31 kindergarteners and 34 first-graders to 16 seventh-graders and 28 eighth-graders. Instruction is delivered by a dedicated faculty of nearly 46 full-time equivalent teachers, yielding a remarkably strong student-to-teacher ratio of under six to one that allows for highly personalized learning, strong mentorship, and individualized academic support.
