Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School

Located at 130 Haliwa-Saponi Trail in Hollister, North Carolina, the Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School operates as an active independent charter district providing comprehensive public education tailored to its local community. Set within a distant rural geography, this single-school district delivers a seamless academic continuum spanning from kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. The school serves as a vital educational and cultural hub, offering local families a dedicated learning environment that spans primary, middle, and high school grade levels under one roof.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the district maintained an intimate learning community with a total enrollment of 140 students. The student body is deeply rooted in the local heritage, featuring a majority representation of American Indian students alongside Black, multiracial, and Hispanic learners. To support student achievement and well-being, the district employs a well-proportioned team consisting of approximately 19.3 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers and 6.3 FTE support staff members, totaling about 25.7 FTE personnel.
