Southeastern Academy

Southeastern Academy is an open, independent public charter school district located at 12251 NC HWY 41 North in Lumberton, North Carolina. Operating as a single-school local educational agency, the district serves a rural distant community within the broader Lumberton metropolitan area. Designed to foster academic growth during foundational learning years, the academy offers comprehensive instruction for students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Operating under federal IDEA guidelines as an independent charter institution, the school provides a dedicated learning environment focused entirely on elementary and middle school education.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, Southeastern Academy educated a total of 218 students, maintaining remarkably consistent cohort sizes of approximately 21 to 26 pupils per grade level. The student body reflects the cultural tapestry of Robeson County, comprising 144 White, 49 American Indian, 12 Black, 8 multiracial, and 5 Hispanic students, with a breakdown of 119 female and 99 male learners. Supporting this close-knit student body is a robust instructional team consisting of approximately 28.5 full-time equivalent teachers alongside support staff. This high level of staffing results in an advantageous student-to-teacher ratio of under 8 to 1, allowing educators to deliver individualized attention, strong academic oversight, and a supportive environment for every child.
