ALDO LEOPOLD CHARTER

Aldo Leopold Charter School is an open, independent charter district operating a single campus located at 410 W 10th St in Silver City, New Mexico. Set within a remote town community, the district functions as its own local educational agency for federal programs, serving middle and high school students across grades 6 through 12. Designed to offer a focused academic environment within the Silver City metro area, the school provides accessible public charter education backed by an established local presence and active community outreach.

The district supports a close-knit student body of 201 enrolled pupils, encompassing 83 middle school students in grades 6 through 8 and 118 high school students in grades 9 through 12. Demographically, the student body consists of 107 female and 94 male students, including 103 White, 76 Hispanic, 17 multiracial, 2 American Indian, 2 Asian, and 1 Black student. To support its student population, the district maintains a substantial personnel infrastructure totaling nearly 82 full-time equivalent (FTE) positions.
