South Scioto Academy

South Scioto Academy is an active, independent public charter school district situated at 2200 Winslow Drive in Columbus, Ohio. Operating a single educational facility within a large city environment, the district provides structured academic programs tailored for elementary and middle school students spanning from Kindergarten through 8th grade. As an independent local educational agency for federal programs, the academy offers an accessible urban learning destination committed to guiding young scholars through their core early and intermediate academic years.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the academy serves a total enrollment of 224 students, including 117 male and 107 female learners. The student body reflects a diverse demographic community, comprising 182 Black students, 22 multiracial students, 14 Hispanic students, and 6 White students, evenly distributed across grade cohorts up through a 32-student 8th-grade class. To foster student development and manage daily operations, the district utilizes a dedicated staff of 32.36 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees, anchored by 26 FTE classroom teachers alongside more than 6 FTE support staff members.
