Southern Local

Situated at 106 North Broadway Street in Racine, Ohio, Southern Local is an open, traditional public school district serving a rural fringe community. Operating independently as a non-charter system, the district manages two operational schools that provide a seamless educational continuum from prekindergarten through 12th grade. For the 2024–2025 academic year, the district serves a close-knit body of 680 students, offering accessible primary and secondary education tailored to the needs of its local residents.

The student population includes 359 male and 321 female learners, representing a student body composed primarily of White students alongside multiracial and Hispanic student groups. To support its educational mission, Southern Local maintains a robust institutional framework featuring approximately 90 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers, 4 instructional aides, and over 310 support staff members, bringing total district personnel to more than 405 FTE staff.
