HARDING INDEPENDENCE (CHARTER)

Located at 12600 N Kelley Avenue in Oklahoma City, Harding Independence Charter District operates as an active, independent public charter system serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Situated in a rural fringe setting within the broader Oklahoma City metropolitan region, the district encompasses three operational schools designed to foster seamless academic progression across primary, middle, and secondary grade levels. The district educates a vibrant student body of 1,055 learners, characterized by a balanced gender breakdown (540 male and 515 female students) and rich multicultural diversity, including prominent Black, Hispanic, White, and multi-racial student communities.

To support its comprehensive educational mission during the 2024–2025 school year, the district maintains a dedicated workforce totaling approximately 179 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members. This includes 126 full-time equivalent classroom teachers alongside instructional aides and nearly 50 support staff members, ensuring a well-resourced learning environment tailored to student growth. Student enrollment is particularly strong at the high school level, anchored by robust ninth through twelfth-grade cohorts alongside established middle and early elementary programs. Functioning as its own local educational agency for federal programs, Harding Independence offers families, students, and education researchers an engaging model of charter-based public education in Oklahoma.
