Life Male STEAM Academy CS

Situated in a large suburban setting within the Pittsburgh metropolitan area, Life Male STEAM Academy CS is an active, independent charter district operating out of Penn Center East in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Functioning as a single-school local education agency, the academy provides a specialized public education tailored for young men spanning grades 6 through 10. Designed to deliver an engaging curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), the district offers families in the surrounding region an innovative, single-gender learning environment structured to foster academic excellence, character building, and leadership during crucial middle and early high school years.

During the 2024–2025 school year, the academy served a total student body of 102 young men, with enrollment primary concentrated across sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, alongside ninth-grade scholars. The school reflects a diverse student body, predominantly serving Black students alongside multiracial, American Indian, Hispanic, and White youth. To support its specialized mission and individualized learning model, the district maintains an exceptionally strong educator and staff presence, featuring 30 full-time equivalent teachers, 8 instructional aides, and 50 support staff members. This low student-to-staff ratio enables the academy to provide intensive academic interventions, strong mentorship, and comprehensive support services aimed at helping every student thrive.
