Blackstone Academy

Located at 334 Pleasant Street in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, Blackstone Academy operates as an active, independent charter district dedicated to high school education. Situated within a large suburban environment in the Providence-Warwick metropolitan region, this single-school district functions as its own local educational agency for federal programs. The academy focuses exclusively on secondary education, serving students across grades 9 through 12. Its specialized high school environment offers an intimate, community-centered setting tailored to guide students through their pivotal upper-level academic years and prepare them for post-secondary success.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, Blackstone Academy maintains a balanced total enrollment of 357 students across its four grade levels, enrolling 86 ninth graders, 88 tenth graders, 91 eleventh graders, and 92 seniors. The student body represents a vibrant multicultural background—predominantly comprising Hispanic (229) and Black (72) students, along with White, multiracial, Asian, and Native American peers—and maintains an even gender balance of 180 male and 177 female students. To cultivate student achievement, the district employs a dedicated workforce of 60 full-time equivalent (FTE) personnel, including 50 full-time teachers and 10 support staff. This robust staffing structure creates an exceptionally low student-to-teacher ratio of roughly seven to one, offering researchers, parents, and prospective students clear evidence of an academic model built around individualized instruction, strong mentorship, and comprehensive student support.
