MONTE ALTO ISD

Monte Alto Independent School District is an active, traditional public school district headquartered at 25149 1st Street in Monte Alto, Texas. Serving a rural distant community situated within the McAllen-Edinburg-Mission metropolitan region, the district operates three school campuses that deliver a comprehensive educational experience spanning from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. As a non-charter, independent district, Monte Alto ISD provides a unified academic pipeline designed to guide local youth from early childhood foundation building all the way through high school graduation.

The district serves a student body of 819 learners, composed of 380 female and 439 male students. Reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the surrounding region, the student population is overwhelmingly Hispanic (813 students), with additional representation including White and American Indian students. To foster academic growth and support student needs, Monte Alto ISD relies on a dedicated workforce of 234 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members.
