STEP CHARTER SCHOOL

Located at 11250 S. Wilcrest in Houston, Texas, STEP Charter School operates as an active, open independent charter district nestled within the large city setting of the Houston-Pasadena-The Woodlands metropolitan area. Serving as its own local educational agency for federal programs, the district manages three operational school campuses dedicated to foundational elementary and middle school learning. The district caters exclusively to primary and middle grades, offering comprehensive instruction from kindergarten through eighth grade to prepare young scholars for secondary education.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, STEP Charter School serves a student body of 693 learners, including 367 female and 326 male students. The district reflects a vibrant, multicultural community, with a student population comprising 446 Hispanic, 145 Black, 68 Asian, and 22 White students, along with American Indian and multiracial individuals. Supporting this diverse population is a robust team of approximately 172 full-time equivalent staff members, including nearly 94 dedicated classroom teachers, 22 instructional aides, and 56 support personnel. This well-rounded staffing structure ensures focused guidance and educational resources for students across all grade levels, from early childhood entry through eighth-grade graduation.
