PANHANDLE ISD

Located at 106 W 9th St in Panhandle, Texas, Panhandle Independent School District is an active, traditional public school district serving the educational needs of its local community. Classified as a rural distant district within the greater Amarillo metropolitan area, Panhandle ISD operates three schools providing a complete academic continuum from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. As an independent, non-charter district, it delivers a stable, structured learning environment designed to guide local students seamlessly from early childhood education through high school graduation.

During the 2024–2025 academic year, the district serves a total enrollment of 620 students, with a student body comprising 327 male and 293 female learners. Demographically, the student population includes 496 White, 80 Hispanic, 32 multiracial, 6 Black, 4 American Indian, and 2 Asian students. To foster academic growth and maintain operational excellence across its campuses, Panhandle ISD maintains a robust workforce totaling approximately 211 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff members. This team includes nearly 117 FTE teachers, 15 instructional aides, and 80 support personnel, ensuring students benefit from strong instructional support and dedicated community care.
