South Summit District

Nestled in Kamas, Utah, at 285 East 400 South, the South Summit District is an active, traditional public school system serving a distant rural community in the region surrounding the Heber area. Operating six facilities, the district offers a comprehensive academic continuum spanning from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Designed to support families throughout every stage of childhood development, South Summit provides local youth with a consistent, structured, and continuous educational pathway from early learning through high school graduation.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the district serves a student body of 1,616 learners, including 797 female and 819 male students across all grade levels. To cultivate an engaging learning environment, South Summit employs a dedicated workforce totaling more than 433 full-time equivalent staff members. This includes approximately 175 classroom teachers and 37 instructional aides, backed by a strong network of 221 support staff members. With a favorable student-to-teacher ratio of roughly 9 to 1, the district emphasizes individualized attention, strong community connections, and robust institutional support to help every student succeed.
