AMY BIEHL CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL

Amy Biehl Charter High School (ABCHS) is a tuition-free, lottery-based public charter school located in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico. Named in honor of Amy Biehl, an American Fulbright scholar who was killed while working to end apartheid in South Africa, the school is deeply rooted in the philosophy of social justice, service, and community engagement. Its academic model is designed to bridge the gap between high school and college, offering a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking, civic responsibility, and the development of the "whole student."
